Fenax was born the youngest son of a destitute noble family in Kaerok and placed as a squire in his father's lord's household. He developed a deep friendship with Tallia, the lord's daughter, which evolved into love. When her father discovered their relationship threatened her prospects, he sent Fenax to the Eternal Citadel under false pretenses, where he was forcibly inducted into the Sacred Order as an Armiger. Tallia later arrived at the Citadel, stating Lumaya had shown her the way to reunite with him. Since then, they have served the Sacred Order together on dozens of battlefields and rarely left one another's side.
