Oella

The tale of Ultan of the Shell, and Oella, a Fae queen, began in the forlorn years following the Scouring of the Great Grove. Ultan, a Dark Elf, had fled the gloomy eaves of Durham Forest, seeking a new purpose. After years of travel, he discovered Mistwood in eastern Peltas, where he encountered Oella. She sensed his sorrow and approached Ultan peacefully rather than expelling him as others might have. Over decades, their relationship evolved from curiosity and chance meetings into friendship and eventually love. Despite disapproval from other Fae, Oella cared not, and made Ultan her knight and champion. During an expedition to the corrupted Great Grove, Ultan fought with the ferocity of a dozen warriors to protect Oella's retinue. Gravely wounded, he survived only because Oella held Ultan and poured her very essence into his terrible wounds, binding their spirits and infusing him with Fae magic. Upon their return, Oella designated Ultan as her consort. Though he had earned some respect, it would take centuries for the Fae to fully accept him as one of their own.
