This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar storage technologies on gestal.gg (the "Service"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device to remember information about you. We also use related browser-storage mechanisms such as localStorage, which behave similarly.

2. Cookies and storage we use

Essential (strictly necessary)

These are required to operate the Service. You cannot disable them through the Service itself; disabling them at the browser level will break signing in and similar features.

  • Refresh-token cookie — a long-lived, httpOnly, secure cookie that keeps you signed in across visits.
  • Access-token cookie — a short-lived (approximately 15 minutes) cookie that authenticates your requests.
  • Session hint in localStorage — a small non-sensitive flag that lets us restore your session state on reload without an extra request.

Analytics (only with your consent)

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — a small script from Cloudflare that measures aggregate page views. It loads only after you accepton the cookie banner shown on your first visit. According to Cloudflare, this service does not set any tracking cookie of its own. See Cloudflare's Web Analytics page for details. You can change your choice by clearing site data in your browser and reloading.

Third-party (only when you interact)

  • YouTube — if you click to play a YouTube video embedded on the Service, YouTube will load and may set its own cookies. The video player is not loaded until you click, so no YouTube cookies are set otherwise.

Following a link from the Service to an external site such as Discord, YouTube, or Twitch opens that site in a new tab. Those sites set their own cookies under their own policies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies and to set preferences per site. Note that disabling strictly-necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
