April’s Field Notes: It’s hard to tell if time passes differently here, but by my reckoning, it’s been 74 Earth days since we were catapulted into this world. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before, it’s both beautiful and super scary. The ‘kingdom’ I’m currently in, Kaerok, has Humans here, so at least I’ve landed on my feet. But, there’s other things. Mutants that look a bit like the ones back home, like the Turtles themselves. They’re called Skinwalkers, though, and it seems to be a whole new phenomenon not related to goopy mutagen. My field reporting skills have come in handy, as Kaerok can be pretty unfriendly at times – I thought New York was a tough scene! I’ve had to be an undercover reporter and street fighter in one – if I don’t win a Pulitzer for this, it’s a crime against journalism. I’ve not got my headline yet, but I do have one big lead – a report of a strange turtle-like creature that had appeared out of the sky, ranting and raving about some magical item called ‘Pi’Zza’. That’ll definitely be Mikey. If I can get to him, hopefully we’ll find the others together. Where would they be without me? And then there’s Shredder. I’ve also heard reports from a place in the east called Yakai, and it sounds like he’s set up shop there. I’ll keep my ear to the ground, and see what else I can learn. It won’t be long before he gets the Turtles in his sights. I’ve got to find them before he does. This is April O’Neil, signing off.
